Post Merger IT Integration: Synergies, IT Strategy and Establishment of New IT Organization

Starting Situation 

  • Our client was in the middle of a merger with 2 other groups in Europe in order to jointly become the largest European beverage bottler
  • As part of the merger, the newly formed IT organization needed a business case (synergies), a common IT strategy and the right IT organization to actively drive the company’s digital transformation as an enabler

 

Project goals 

  • Calculation of the expected synergies from the merger of the IT organizations
  • Development of a target organization & an IT strategy for the new IT organization
  • Definition and initiation of a transition and transformation program: Shutdown of the US organization and establishment of an IT organization in Europe as a merger of CCIP, CCE and CCEAG

 

Procedure

  • Top-down analysis, identification of synergy candidates and determination of possible savings targets, bottom-up reviews and agreement commitments
  • Development and coordination of an IT strategy framework & the IT strategy by means of workshops with the CIOs
  • Analysis of the 3 IT organizations, coordination of functional target building blocks, description of the target organization L1-L3, development of first transition matrix
  • Task Transfer of USA-Org tasks to Europe & Shut Down USA-Org
  • Definition & setup of interim IT organization in Europe, validation & planning of transformation roadmap, design of target operating model
